Weekend in the Tatra

As Hungary has only hills I had to go to the neighbour Slovakia, once Hungarian territory, to spent a weekend in the mountains, the high Tatras. I started Friday at 6pm, but it was quite hard to get there, instead of a 5 hours trip it took me 7 hours to reach Poprad because of train delays.
Saturday we went hiking. The weather was not so perfect, but being in the middle of nowhere allowed me to relax and don´t think in the every day's life. I came back today, stopping for a while in Kosice for one hour to make a quick tour. A nice city, small, but nice!

Inicio de um novo semestre

Aqui vai o primeiro post que celebra o inicio das hostilidades. Um fim de semana típico em Debrecem, sexta e sábado a curtir até às tantas. Já com a companhia dos novos lusitanos. Quatro doutores com o espírito apropriado para sobreviver a esta cidade.
O trabalho que este semestre tem sido muito mas com alguns resultados que começam a dar algum sentido à minha estadia cá!

First year

Estava cá a pensar com os meus botões, quando cheguei à conclusão que já se passou um ano sobre a minha chegada a Debrecen. Como o tempo corre sem nós nos apercebermos.
Poderia entrar em grandes divagações sobre a minha vida neste sítio, sobre o que aprendi, sobre as pessoas que conheci, sobre as estranhas coincidências da vida, sobre os problemas de estar fora, mas sobre isso já eu fiz nos outros posts. Este serve mesmo só para marcar a data e esperar que o segundo ano seja ainda melhor que o primeiro! Bebam uma por mim, que eu vou abrir uma Borsodi a isso.

Today it’s the first anniversary of my Debrecen life. I could speak a lot about it but I’ve been doing it for the last year. This is just to announce the world the event. I would like that each one of you that I met this year and are not in Debrecen anymore to be present on this day for a beer and a Palinka!

Back in Debrecen

After one month of fun in Portugal. I'm back to the big village!! Even though, is the first time I arrived and I immediately felt at home, at least kind of. Leaving Portugal is never easy, but knowing where I was going to, made things easier this time.

Finally, after 25 years, I spent a couple of days in the second biggest city of Portugal. I could confirm the warm welcoming from the people of the city, and understand why the city is considered by the UNESCO World Heritage.
Of course the main reason to go there was to meet my Debrecen Tugazinhas who have just finished their exams and began their holidays. It was kind of strange to meet them in their native ecosystem but of course it was a great time and we had lots of fun. We even managed to be hangovered one of the days!! :P

Aeroporto

Mais uma vez no aeroporto de Budapeste à espera do avião para Lisboa. Desta vez com os meus mais e o meu irmão, o que torna menos secante a espera. Acrescentando os devaneios comportamentais do meu irmão, ainda melhor!!
