Portuguese Guitar in Debrecen!

In one of the last days I was in my lovely Debrecen I had the pleasure to listen to a concert of this amazing instrument!!

The End!

This was supposed to have be posted just before the departure! But I didn't have time!

An end has a start! And a great midle!

For the last weeks I was thinking about this moment, the time to write my farewell message on my blog's wall! I have to admit it is not easy at all! It is difficult to put in words the amazing experience these last four years were to me!
Debrecen will stay in my heart for ever and definitely I'll return to visit the friends I have left there! I will miss you, which kept the keys of the gates of Debrecen for me!
Also, I hope to meet all the others who are not there anymore, spread around the four corners of the world! It was a pleasure to share time with all of you in my magyar experience!
This last four years will be kept locked with golden keys in my memory!
I hope to see you soon in Helsinki, the door of my house is open to mindenki!

Agora uma palavra especial para vocês! Tugas com quem partilhei uma grande parte dos meus momentos! Durante 4 anos a torneira Erasmus encheu o meu copo de amizades com pessoas extraordinárias!

Athos 04 FC

Yesterday I played my last game with my team, the Athos 04 FC!
It has been a pleasure to play football with you these last 4 years!
Now that I am going away you can get a proper player and reach the first division :p!
For the perfect goodbye I scored my last goal!
Hajrá Athos!!!!!!!!

Because all of you are the reponsible for 4 years as special as these!!

My Debrecen's life will end in seven days!
I am starting to think what to do with this Blog! 

Saudades

In the following 11 days I will do all the goodbyes from Debrecen! The last game with Athos, the last dinner in palma csokonai or da tano, the last beer with the guys, the last tram ride, the last Bakelite night, the last time at the thermals baths, the last party at Barna's, the last too many things!
What the hell us Portuguese have on our DNA to miss things before we leave them!

Ps Anyway! Very happy to go soon to another place! Ambivalence is taking charge of my mood!

Sudoeste

Depois de um par de anos de interregno desloquei-me à Herdade da Casa Branca ontem para ir a uma noite de Sudoeste!
O principal objectivo desta incursão era a possibilidade de finalmente ouvir ao vivo um projecto musical que me tem preenchido muitos dos meus dias nestes últimos dois anos. O concerto de Beirut não foi tão fabuloso como esperaria, ou talvez as minhas expectativas fossem demasiado altas. Ainda assim, foi suficientemente bom para eu me dar satisfeito pelos quilómetros feitos. O ambiente no palco planeta sudoeste foi o ideal, nota muito positiva para a empatia criada com o público, pela negativa, a qualidade do som que não ajudou muito, especialmente a parte vocal e o ukelele que estava com o tom muito baixo. Não posso esperar o momento de os ver ao vivo numa sala de espectáculos tipo Coliseu. Ai acho que funcionarão ainda melhor. 
De salientar neste dia o concerto de Martina Topley-Bird, uma surpresa para mim, o de Carminho, a mostrar que o Fado está bem e recomenda-se, e o de Massive Attack, ao terceiro concerto que vi deles finalmente uma actuação que me convenceu. 

Ps. Os quilómetros foram feitos a dormir, quer para baixo para cima, pobre Tiago que teve o pior pendura de sempre!

I have been reading a lot of opinion columns in the newspapers criticizing the wave of unconcernment regarding the world problems created by the vicinity of the World Cup.

I say different, at least leave us, only every 4 years, to think that the only place nations fight  is in a field with 11 men each side and a ball!

I don't understand anything about economics. GDP, Ratings, IMF, Deficit are just enigmatic and labyrinthic words for me... I just know one thing, who gets screwed are always the same, the People, and even worst, the people who have already little, which turns into nothing in difficult times like these.

Veil ban

During the last days I have read a lot of news about prohibition of the use of Islamic veil in public places in several European countries. From a girl excluded from a school in Spain to a a new law being voted today in the Belgium parliament. 

In my own opinion the use of veil is a symbol of women oppression and  the dichotomous way the two genders have mainly been treated in our society. To men, everything has been allowed during centuries, in example, in almost every culture was seen with good eyes the sexual initiation with prostitutes, as women have been oppressed, pre-marital sex was considered a disgrace to her family. And that is what use of veil is about, the characterization of the woman as a spring of desire and vicious thoughts, so it has to be hidden.         

On the other hand (even if I don't agree with any of them and I think world will be a much nicer place without religious institutions of any kind)  I think every single person should be free to do their choices in life, also in religious mater. So if a woman chooses to wear these kind of clothes by forbidding it her freedom of religious choice would be obliterated in a way. 

Anyway, I also questioned myself how many of these women that walk around in Europe, where they would be free not to do it, covering what they should show to the world, do it by their own choice or are forced to it by the male members of their families.

I think this is a very difficult question of what we can call Human Rights. By banning the use of veil, we are entering the field of free choice of religion, but woman rights are already being violated if they are forced to use the veil. 

Just to finalize, summer is coming, and how boring will be our beaches if instead of bikinis women will use chadors or burkas. This is not a sexist statement, nature made women and men beautiful to be seen and appreciated not to be hidden under layers of clothes.

Ainda que me tenha afastado do que se celebra neste tipo de dias, há neles algo muito importante para mim e que me transporta a algumas das melhores recordações da minha vida.. O estar em família,  perto das pessoas que realmente nos amam. Assim sendo:  
Uma Feliz Páscoa para todos.
Especialmente para os meus Padrinhos Manel, Gina, Irene, Edmundo e Guiduxa (Tiago tens de oficializar a cena para entrares na lista :P).
E claro para os meus petizes, a Violeta, o André e a Beatriz ( que já não são assim tão petizes) e para o Cristiano (este era petiz quando eu era :P)

Dois pormenores que gostava de realçar... Os biquinhos do Di Maria e o discurso recorrente da justiça de Deus! Faço um apelo aos jogadores brasileiros, parem com esses comentários. São de um ridículo extremo.
Se Deus se preocupasse com as injustiças cá em baixo, teria de começar por outro lado, não por aí! 
O resto é opinião dele, não contesto.

Un paio de anni fa due bastardi dell'Abruzzo mi hanno fatto conoscere il grande Francesco de Gregori.
Ogni volta che sento questa canzone mi viene in mente loro due a cantare questo a la biondona Hilde! 

Uni di loro ha finito medicina un dei questi giorni, spero di non trovarlo mai in ospedale!! Paura!! :P

Honeymoon in Tehran: Two years of love and danger in Iran

I got this book as a Christmas present from my sister. Most of you will nowadays know why Iran is such a topic of great interest for me for the last one and a half year and that was probably the reason why she gave me the book.
The Portuguese edition has a very dubious cover which made think even more, having also in consideration the title,  my sister had given me a boring novel of low quality about a lousy love story (nothing against love stories, they can make very good books). 
I couldn't be more separated from the true. I devoured it in the last 4 days from the first till the last page. It is an amazing report of contemporaneous Persian society. It shows their problem, fears, expectations and ways to adapt and survive the totalitarian and ambiguous regime they lived in.
It is a good book for someone that wants to know further more than what is shown by the videos and images from the bearded men burning flags of the USA or the people in the streets wearing green.

The team consolidated its top performances by assuring the 3rd place in the indoor Championship. Important to mention that Attila and Dani were top goalscorers of the league in ex aequo with 29 goals! 

Having suffered my biggest injury of my career during offseason I just played in few games at end of the season. 

My performances where not the best mostly related with the shape  I had been acquiring during the 3 months of total inactivity.

Natural disasters can happen everywhere. A lot can be discussed about who is the fault of the dimensions of the tragedy but nothing will bring back the life of the deaths and remove the pain from who lost somebody!

A Clinton foi à Arábia Saudita pedir apoio para um eventual aumento de sanções ao vizinho Irão.
O que me perturba é como é que uma mulher Secretária de Estado da supostamente democracia defensora dos direito humanos se senta à mesa com um Rei de uma País onde esses direitos, principalmente os das mulheres como ela, são violados diariamente.
Alguém me explique, que a situação deixa-me muito confuso!

Final

Bem acabou-se o Europeu! Chegamos mais longe do que deixamos antever ao início!
Porém mais uma, vez cometemos erros que nos custaram caros.
Mas aqueles 3 minutos finais foram electrizantes. Não conseguimos, mas estivemos perto!
Foram 2 semanas emocionantes em que conheci muita gente nova.
Agora cada vez que for a Portugal, tenho mais uns quantos amigos a quem telefonar para um copo!

Temos de manter o nível que demonstramos ontem para despacharmos o Azerbaijão.
Não tive a oportunidade nem de ir a Budapeste nem de ver na TV, por isso, a crónica é mais reduzida desta vez!

Vamos para os quartos de final a Budapeste com a bagagem recheada de golos .
Hoje demos uma melhor imagem de nós, tendo sido a nossa selecção a inaugurar o marcador com um erro crasso do guarda espanhol, considerado um dos melhores do mundo, Luis Amado.
No decorrer da primeira parte a Espanha empatou e de seguida colocou-se em vantagem por 2-1 com um golo precedido de falta sobre o Gonçalo.
A acabar a primeira parte a dupla de arbitragem fechou os olhos a um lance em que comentaram a sexta falta sobre um dos nossos jogadores.
A seguir ao descanso entramos para cima da Espanha e Cardinal provou mais uma vez que somos fadados ao azar, ao enviar a bola ao poste num movimento de grande qualidade.
A Espanha de seguida voltou a marcar, com mais um golo precedido de uma possível falta sobre Arnaldo, quando ele partia para o contra-ataque.
A partir deste momento, a nossa equipa nunca mais se encontrou, originando um avolumar no resultado para as hostes espanholas.
Agora fico a torcer pela primeira vitória neste Europeu para voltar a ter o prazer de ter a equipa de futsal cá!

Jogo de medíocre qualidade da nossa selecção, em que cometemos demasiados erros que não se esperam e não podem ser aceites para jogadores ao nível dos nossos.
Domingo lá estarei para apoiá-los no jogo que opõe a nossa selecção à dos nossos vizinhos ibéricos.
Os nossos jogadores precisam de puxar dos galões e fazer um exibição de bom nível para nos convencerem, e a eles próprios, que poderão ainda fazer coisas importantes neste europeu!
